It is prescribed as part of a broader treatment plan that includes diet and lifestyle measures. Jardiance is not intended for the treatment of type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.<\/p>\n<p>Empagliflozin belongs to a class of medicines known as SGLT2 inhibitors.
